He is a goat and he is a monk from the 15th century. As Abbot, he is in character of the monastery where Brother Dennis and Brother Pierre discover tennis. He is rather strict and likes his abbey to run smoothly. He often catches Brother Dennis and Brother Pierre playing when they should be working.
