Baby Stitches is a minor character in "A Big Operation," an episode of The Busy World of Richard Scarry. She or he is born to Mrs. Stitches, as a reason for the latter to stay in the hospital, while Huckle Cat, accompanied by Lowly Worm, is talking to his fellow patients. The baby is held by the raccoon nurse and does not appear scared in the hospital (Lowly mentions the gender by pronoun while saying so), prompting Huckle that he should not be scared to have an operation himself, so he returns to his room to have it. Much later, in Mrs. Stitches's arms, Baby Stitches is with all visitors and fellow patients watching Huckle after his operation, especially while Lowly finishes his ice cream for him.
It is unknown who did the baby's vocal effects.
She or he first appeared in Richard Scarry's What Do People Do All Day.
