Mrs. Stitches is a minor character in Richard Scarry's What Do People Do All Day and The Busy World of Richard Scarry.
In "A Big Operation," Huckle (accompanied by Lowly) visits her in the hospital, only to find she is not there because of any injury or illness, but because of childbirth. It is mentioned by Lowly that her newborn baby is a girl. Because Huckle is, of course, older than the baby, when he finds out she (the baby) is not scared of being in a hospital, he decides neither should he be, and goes back to his room for an operation.
