Rita is a one-time character from The Busy World of Richard Scarry episode "The Perfect Gentleman." It is never said or known whether she is a cheetah, jaguar, or leopard (The animal species can be added as a last name to a title change if it is ever found out.). Her outfit is a white long-sleeved shirt or blouse, a tan vest, and a blue skirt. Unlike many Busytown citizens, Rita acts like a real digitigrade by standing and walking only one her toes while keeping the rest of her feet off the floor or ground.
Rita is a friend of Hilda Hippo whose house she is staying at while Hilda is gone for a weekend, but she doesn't know anyone in Busytown. Therefore, Bananas Gorilla plans to help out. So, as the store owner dog figures, Bananas is going on a date, and so he helps him. Bananas arrives at Hilda's and shows Rita around, particularly to a movie, but he loses his ticket getting more popcorn for her, so they go to the beach instead. Then, because he has spent all of his money, Rita buys ice cream for them both instead: chocolate for her and banana (naturally) for him.
